What’s your favorite part of Valentines Day? I personally love reading all the little valentine cards the kids exchange. I love having another reason to eat chocolate…as if I really need one. And, yeah, tomorrow Dove heart chocolates will be half-price and I will get to stock up again. And who can’t help but smile at all the cute, crazy stuffed creations they come up with every year?
So what do you have planned to give the special “valentine’s” in your life today?
As I was pondering this very thing, I was struck with the thought that perhaps the most special Valentine’s gift that I could give would be to say a prayer for those who are serving in Iraq and other places in the world today. And not to stop there because their spouses and family members could also use a heavenly hug. Actually there are many who are lonely today. And if perhaps you’re one of the one’s that I am referring to, please know you’re not alone or forgotten. I know God has you on His Valentine’s list.
And last, but not least, my Valentine’s wish for you is that you will experience the miracle of being an instrument in God’s hands today. Just ask Him if there is anybody He needs you to deliver a special Valentine’s message to. Then, listen and ponder on it and He will put you to work. And this is a great thing! After all, I have found Him to be an equal opportunity employer, who pays the best, cares the most and then, talk about the ultimate retirement plan!
