All of a sudden out of the blue, my, strong, man of all men, husband let out a cry. One look at his face and I new something wasn’t right.
“What’s wrong sweetheart?” I asked.
The only answer I got was a steady stream of moans. Turns out, my dear husband has kidney stones. If you’ve had them you know how excruciating they are.
I think it’s harder to sit and watch someone you love go through pain than it is to go through it yourself. Yet, that’s all I can do is sit, bring him water and look at him wishing I could do something more.
So when I came across this picture…well it portrays perfectly how I feel as I sit looking at my husband.

Even though I wouldn’t change a thing in my life and even though I know I wouldn’t be who I am without my life challenges, I still find myself wishing life didn’t have to be so hard.
A wise friend said the other day:
“God is more interested in my character than He is my comfort.” This is so true. Gods desires to build our character so that he can use us to build monuments with our lives.
When we remind ourselves, that everything that is happening in our lives is part of a training program and that the benefits of this program is so we can be better instruments in Gods hands, we feel hope and a desire to go on.
Today’s Life on Purpose Challenge:
Commit to looking at your life as a training ground. Choose to see the life lessons in your relationships and circumstances, work, business in everything around you.
Today’s Life on Purpose Quotes:
“…we could never learn to be brave and patient, if there were only joy in the world.” Helen Keller
“Problems are not stop signs, they’re guidelines.” Robert Schuler.
“Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.” Helen Keller
Today’s Life on Purpose Affirmation:
“I trust that all things can work for my good. I choose to look for what I can learn from my trials.”
As always, my husband is an inspiration. Keep him in your prayers. Thanks
