Don’t you just love it when someone tells you how beautiful you look or when they say something is different about you, and you appear to be glowing? What makes it even better is when you feel it, too. You feel it because you are on fire with purpose. You have gotten the message that you are somebody fabulous and life is about having joy.

But perhaps you don’t feel or believe that you were born to be fabulous. Or perhaps you have had a week or even a month from you know where, like I have, and feeling fabulous is the last thing you feel. That’s why I like reminding myself of thoughts like this one:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that others won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory in God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

My prayer for you is that no matter how hard life is or how many times you or someone else has told you that you’re stupid, ugly, and not good enough, that you will now choose to consider the possibility that you are fabulous and that you were born with a specific life purpose.

If you struggle with a low self image or the lack of self-confidence to go after the dreams in your heart like most of us do, can I suggest you get a job as a master gardener? Where, you ask? Well, you won’t have to go far; there is a beautiful garden that needs tending: I call it the garden of your mind. Only, right now it probably is quite overgrown with weeds.

The weeds of negativity; weeds that when you pull them up are more than likely rooted in the mean things that were told to you your whole life. Weeds that you didn’t plant yourself, but managed to tend and feed everyday by criticizing yourself.

But the good news is, you can pull them out and replant beautiful plants of truth in their place like the quotes in today’s post. The secret to a beautiful garden/mind is realizing that the tasks of weeding; planting and nurturing have to be performed as long as we wish to have a lovely garden.

But that’s okay because nothing feels better than enjoying the fruits of our labor. Oh, if only you could grasp your potential and the yet-to-be-discovered beauty of your garden and all the fruits that you have to share…”ahh, but that’s what Life On Purpose is all about: making sure that not a day goes by without you getting your daily hug and reminder of your potential…because the world needs you and your flowers.

I am going to close today with this quote by Anne Frank, a woman whose story and life is…well remarkable.

“Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don’t know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!’—Anne Frank
