The only thing standing between our family being totally connected and in perfect unison after dinner tonight was the lack of two computers. No sooner had the table been cleared, when out came every bodies laptops, that is everybody who had one. As I looked around, I couldn’t help but wonder how many times this same scene was being played out all over the world.
The sad reality is that after dinner in most technologically blessed households, is the parting of paths as everyone retreats to their own office, or bedroom, or wherever there personal computers reside.
That’s when it hit me, how lucky we were to have so many laptops. As we can all continue to sit around the kitchen table and enjoy family togetherness the 21st century way.
P.S. If any one noticed that we were actually short two laptops, we got it covered. We just asked those without laptops to bring cell phones, mp3 players, iPods, or whatever they owned, “Let all enjoy modern technology how they may.”
