We have a family secret at our house. The kind of secret we don’t want anyone to know. It’s a secret we all work hard to keep. See for years every time there is any kind of family get together, or anytime one of the extended family calls they always ask us to bring our special brownies..and I’m not talking about a little pan of brownies, I’m talking about big bakery sheets of brownies.

So for years we have been bringing this family favorite to gatherings and today was one of those days. Now, the brownie magic starts as soon as we arrive. I can always count on the usual hugs and what’s new in your life questions and then with a searching glance this question always comes up, “Aunt Becca did you bring your brownies?”

I then smile with pride and say of course I did. Being the sort of individual who likes to feel, needed and appreciated I look forward to the oohs and ahh’s the brownies always get us.

And I must admit they are fabulous…. and it’s not just our family who thinks they are. The requests for our family brownie recipe goes way beyond to friends and neighbors who are always on the look out for our rich thick moist brownies. We’ve even made money selling them.
