We were attending Church when my 3 year who was sitting next to me on the bench decided to take off running through the chapel…during the service!
I was 26th and totally embarrased. To make matters worse I had bought her the cutest Christmas socks trimmed with mini bells that now rang out like the big church house bells as she found her way up to the pulpit.
She stopped for a brief moment to sit by our Bishop and then she was off and running! My husband and I just sat and debated who was going to catch her when I realized it would have to be me.
So I bravely stood and headed as reverently as I could to get my “darling toddler”. Well as I headed towards her she started running the other direction.
Soon my long legged strides caught up with her. Of course I swooped her up and headed towards the foyer. I noticed as I headed down the church isle several other church members couldn’t hold back their chuckles.
It wasn’t until I got outside the chapel that I realized what could possibly be so amusing!
Well turns out when I swooped up my daughter I also picked up my skirt….ohhh if I could only tell you how embarrased I was that holiday Sunday many Christmases ago!
In the last 20 plus years many goofy moments like this and many hard real life challenges have happened. Thankfully through it all I have learned that:
“Life is 10 percent what you make it and 90 percent how you take it.”~ Irving Berlin
I am so thankful for a God who has proven to me time and time again that all things work for the good of those who trust Him. And who has taught me to believe in Abundance and to find something to be grateful about in all things! It is His Grace and teachings that has blessed my family so tremendously…. And I know He will if He hasn’t already done the same for you!
“And he who receiveth all things with thankfulness shall be made glorious; and the things of this earth shall be added unto him, even an hundred fold, yea, more. D&C Chapter 78: Verse 19”
“I, the Lord, am willing, if any among you adesire to ride upon horses, or upon mules, or in chariots, he shall receive this blessing, if he receive it from the hand of the Lord, with a thankful heart in all things.” D&C Chapter 62: Verse 7
