Don’t always seem to be

The picture of perfection

Each person hopes to be.

Yet just beyond the tiny flaw,

The unseen smile, the lifeless…Ahh

Lies our style, unique, sincere,

That hides behind our constant fear.

Oh, we’ve yet to learn,

As gradual comes the light of day

We, too, must learn to make our way

To let our inner glow become

Music that is ours to hum.

Though not so softly sing our song

When to others we can teach

That to this realm they could belong

Each of us has so much to offer. Each of us have a “song” to sing that the world is waiting to hear. It may be our gift to find hope in hard times. We may have the gift of making everyone feel welcome. We might have a book to write or a new idea to bring to market. Whatever it is, let’s step out from behind our fears and find our “song.”
