What’s Your Wattage?

If you were a light bulb what watt would you be, 100, 75, 40 or 25 watt? If you’re like most it probably depends on the day. One thing is for sure people like moths are drawn to light.

For example I seem to be drawn to:

The light of the refrigerator

The light from the TV

The light from the computer

The promise of a 50% lighter 3 musketeers candy bar

Of course then there are lights I could do without:

The light of the alarm clock

The flashing lights of a police car

The lights from too many candles on my birthday cake

The light of the magnifying glass in my bathroom

Then there is the light I seek, the kind of light that:

Illuminates the darkness

Fills my heart with joy

Show’s me the beauty of another’s soul

I seek light that:

Inspires

Comforts

Heals

And calms

How about you? Are you in need of more light? Has stress or doubt, loss or grief, challenges or the burdens of the day drained your light? The answer to this question is often a resounding yes. So where can we look to find light that can shed hope in our day?

Light can be found in:

The eyes of another

In forgiveness

In words of wisdom

In compassion and understanding

In truth and integrity

In kindness and charity

In respecting and allowing different points of view

In words spoken softly

In the core of our souls

To find the light we are looking for we need not look far. Anais Nin said:

“When you possess light within, you see it externally.”

Sometimes in the dim light of life’s challenges we forget who we really are and what we are truly capable of. Yet one thing remains certain and that is love and light abounds all around us. And if we are willing to look for the light we can find it.

I invite you to join me here daily for words of encouragement and inspiration so that you will always be able to see your potential and find the light that leads you to your life purpose:
